ABOUT
The year is 1975, the hostess of a teen house party has been murdered; she's been found dead in the bathtub by the authorities. Four suspects, who had been guests at said party; are brought into interrogation, however none of their stories line up. Someone is lying, someone killed Lisa Brady.
Who Killed Lisa Brady is a TV opening project that I created in 2020 with my co-producer Niamh Pattenden who handled sound and editing, whilst I handled art department and cinematography. The script was a collaborative effort between the two of us.
The opening is a dark comedy, as the suspects respond to police questioning with blatant inconsistency, and ludicrous claims such as "was I at the scene of the murder? well physically? yes, but mentally? different dimension, so" .
The inspiration for this project came from a mix of murder mysteries like Clue, 70s crime dramas like Charlie's Angels, teen comedies like That 70s Show, and more cartoonish renditions of the mentioned genres such as Scooby Doo. However the shadowed sequence of stabbing motions, extreme close ups and crime scene shots takes heavy inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.
